It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia

Hello Everyone!

This is actually the first post I've written with the expectation that anyone will read, though if anyone has a desire to read the previous posts, all about me getting into the Peace Corps, feel free.

The past two days I've been in Philadelphia for Peace Corps Staging. I'm in a group of 29 people, ages ranging from - oh, 21 to probably about 69. There's an older-married couple that has grandchildren, and quite a few people who just graduated college.

We're about evenly split - half of us are going to be working on agriculture/business development, and half of us are going to be community organizational development volunteers. I am in the latter group. Having said that, I still have no idea what I'm going to be doing.

We've spent the last two days going over logistics and, perhaps most importantly, safety information. I believe that now would be the best time to tell you the most important tip that they've told us to tell all our family and friends - that NO NEWS IS GOOD NEWS. As in, if you DON'T hear from me or the Peace Corps for the next few weeks, everything is going fine. If you do, something may be going not so fine. Though, some of you will be getting an email telling you that I've arrived safely.

Tomorrow we take a bus to NYC, where we fly out on United at 9:30pm. We get into Germany at 11am and then take a 3pm flight to Moldova - we get in Chisnau about 6 or 7pm on Wednesday. Long two days ahead.

I'm dissatistfied with my earphones. They go in your ear canal, and you can hear a bizarre echo. Plus, there's an earwax thing. Frost, I blame you. But I still miss you.

I miss all of you, actually. I'm not sure how I'm going to do with this whole blog thing, but I promise to really try.
